ProLaserSpa uses the GentleLase Pro Candela Alexandrite system, with settings chosen individually for your skin and hair type following a consultation.
How Alexandrite laser works
Alexandrite laser technology directs focused light energy at the pigment (melanin) in the hair. The hair follicle absorbs the energy, which helps reduce further growth in the treated area.
Because hair grows in cycles, multiple sessions are usually recommended. The GentleLase Pro Candela Alexandrite system includes a cooling mechanism to help keep you comfortable during treatment.

The treatment handpiece
During treatment, the handpiece is moved across the skin over the area being treated. The Alexandrite system delivers light energy to the hair follicles while the cooling mechanism helps protect and soothe the skin.
Session length depends on the size of the area — small areas like the upper lip are quick, while larger areas such as the back or full legs take longer.
Consultation & skin assessment
Your skin and hair type are assessed to confirm suitability and recommend a realistic plan.
Patch testing
Where recommended, a patch test checks your skin's response before full treatment.
Preparation
Avoid sun exposure, tanning, waxing and plucking for around four weeks. Shave the area the day before.
Aftercare
Avoid sun, heat and friction for 24–48 hours, keep skin moisturised and use SPF as advised.
